"The art of Albert Barcilon is brilliant and powerful. His use of color, space and depth along with the influences
of muses such as P.Neruda and Mahler, combine to create an evocative, timeless quality in his work that is as
exquisite as it is rare. Barcilon possesses an extraordinary gift that is apparent to anyone who views his work."
--Michele and Michael Ritter, Collectors, CO
"Since the summer 2005, my art has taken a turn. I find satisfaction in painting
an economy of color and shapes. It’s a good exercise in learning to see and paint in
a fresh way. The result is a series of new canvases with uncluttered design and
strong colors."
—Albert Barcilon
"Red and Blue":
Stripped to its essence, this painting is a paragon of simplicity and restfulness.
"Red and Green":
Similar in construction to "Red and Blue," this abstract’s painting tension arises from the collision of the red and green shapes and expresses explosive energy.
"Reminiscence":
A juxtaposition of airy strokes and large shapes jammed against each other provide tension, while at the top of this painting a patch of blue sky signals hope.
"Two Nudes":
The candlelight of a few centuries ago is replaced by a bright lit window that envelopes the perimeter of the house and shrubs in mystery.
"Grand Canyon Suite #1":
Large colorful shapes below anchor the vastness above and echo the grandeur of the Grand Canyon.
"Stargazers":
Rich in calligraphic symbols, the painting shows two lovers gazing at the stars to divine their future.
"Dried Flowers of Time":
Not a collage, but a layering of ghost images onto a watercolor board that went through several stages of chaos and resolution, using acrylics paint. This laborious method was fascinating for its visual and emotional intensity.
"Lost Civilization":
Shrouded in mystery, enigmatic symbols, shadows, and fragments of letters reflect the passage of time and erosion of a lost civilization.
"Three Moons":
Three moons adorn this interior landscape of pleasing contours and hues.
"Amorous Skies":
Gazing at constellations, two lovers ponder their own journeys and the chance events it took for them to meet.
