I hope they conjure up something wonderful for you too." —Albert Barcilon "Amaryllis Chatter": In this painting, each flower's personality strikes you; the eyes of the viewer are ant-scale as they travel through this intricate jungle of petals, stems and leaves. "Black and White Angels": This "fresque" painting uses stark colors in an Art-Deco like style to play out in checkerboard fashion. "Key West Victorian": It seemed as if the coconut trees are protecting this stately Victorian lady. "Red Cannas": This painting has a majesty of its own with its large, embracing red petals, and the sparse brush strokes in the background. "See you in Bali": You feel the breeze through the moving curtains; the chair has been moved as if someone just left the balcony. Its title is a promise of a future meeting. "Trade Winds": The warm orange colors tell of a warm summer afternoon. The sailboat's voluptuous hull shape mesmerizes you by its presence and its play of light in the cool water. The rigging and canopy are a lace-like pattern that contrasts with the massive shape of the hull. "Florida Marshes": A semi-abstract painting where colors and lines work together to create a mood of serenity found near such a pristine body of water. "Peaceful Sunset": Harmonious colors and strokes convey the stillness of the hour and provide a serene antidote–without the side effects!–to the frenzied pace of our lives. "Light Catchers": Figures of "Light-Catchers" gather in the foreground and wait to catch the sunset’s last rays. This whimsical composition interweaves both abstract and realistic images. "Way Yonder Apiece": Sunrise over an imaginary Southwest landscape. The painting and its title attest to my love for the Western landscape with its sweeping vistas and its array of colors that never fail to enthrall me. "Grand Canyon Suite #2": Guided by the emotions that this remarkable place evokes, I strived to capture its immensity, beauty and sumptuous palette.
